One Piece Toilets
Toilets are available in three general categories: one piece, two piece and wall hung. Once piece toilets are those where the bowl and tank are integrated into one unit. This allows for a compact toilet shape–in height and depth. They also allow for interesting design alternatives like the Hatbox toilet.
When considering your toilet also consider:
- toilet bowl configuration–round or elongated
- toilet flushing technology
- toilet height–comfort height or “regular” height
- water usage–i.e. low flow toilets conserve water
One piece toilets fit into two standard categories–round or elongated. An elongated toilet simply means the bowl is more egg or oval-shaped than round, adding about an inch to the toilet seat length. Whether you choose a round or elongated toilet for your home all depends on your room design, personal taste and comfort.
Different flushing mechanisms are optimized for water conservation, bulk waste removal, noise and cleanliness. As an example the flushing system is designed for bulk removal and the Kohler Pressure Lite flushing system is designed for bulk removal and water conservation. The Kohler Ingenium is designed for quiet operation and cleanliness.
Comfort height toilets are designed to place the toilet bowl at a chair height of 16-1/2 inches, allowing comfortable sitting. These toilets are especially helpful when transferring from a wheelchair.
Low water usage toilets greatly conserve water. Some by reduced flush cycles, others by dual flush technology. Current designs allow efficient waste removal even at reduced flush volume.
One piece toilets can provide all these features, or just the ones desired. To start review our popular selling one piece toilets.
Different Toilet Accessories
The standard accessories considered when selection a toilet include:
- toilet seats, including bidet toilet seats
- water supplies (typically using an angle stop)
- toilet flush levers (in alternate finishes)
- toilet tissue holders (and spare tissue holders)
- matching bidets and other bathroom fixtures
Just as there are a large variety of one piece toilets, there are many types of seats that can fit this standard fixture. Heated toilet seats that plug into nearby electrical outlets provide a warm welcome. Bidet seats heat up as well as perform personal cleansing when needed. Oversized seats made from soft plastic allow for people with larger stature or who require some extra padding. Many one piece toilets and seats are made to complement the styles of modern bathrooms and are manufactured in lots of different colors and patterns.
Additionally bidets are available to complement most one piece toilet designs.
