Shower Stalls
When thinking about a shower stall consider the requirements of the shower base, back walls and shower door. Showers can be square, rectangular or neo-angle. The shower base determines the geometry of the shower–so start by selecting the desired shower base. As base sizes are limited your shower stall may determine the layout of your bathroom so size selection should not be delayed.
Choosing a shower door is a basic requirement when you install a new shower, whether you have a corner-unit shower stall or a larger tub-to-shower conversion. There are many choices to make when selecting a door:
- The type of opening–bypass or swing outward (or inward)
- The type of glass–clear, opaque or frosted
- The type of finish–silver, stainless steel, matte nickel, polished brass, oil rubbed bronze
- The door structure–a framed or a frameless door
Shower Doors Can Add Character to Your Bathroom
Shower doors, like other bathroom fixtures, come in a variety of shapes, sizes and finishes. Each door can convey a particular type of style that gives your bathroom character. Clear glass doors, particularly frameless models, allow visitors to see the elegant shower fixtures you have chosen without any sort of barrier. Frosted or opaque doors can provide privacy when the bathroom sees heavy traffic with a busy family. Opaque doors and panels, like rain glass, offer a pattern on the glass providing visual obscurity and also providing for a rough texture that minimizes the impact of water/soap deposits between cleaning. The finish of your door can be matched to coordinate with other fixtures in your bathroom, such as lighting, sink fixtures and the mirror. Complete shower enclosure units sometimes, but not always, include shower doors as part of the package. Be sure you understand what you are getting when you order a complete unit. If you do need to choose a shower door separately, it is important to remember that the door size must be slightly smaller than the size of the shower base to match the finished wall dimensions and provide a correct fit.
We offer many types of shower stalls from well-known manufacturers such as Kohler, Sterling, American Standard, Jacuzzi and Swanstone.
